Mercedes-AMG Project One Offspring Will Be A PHEV Cigarette Boat

FEB 11 2018 BY C SMITH 3

It will be revealed at the upcoming Miami Boat Show.

There’s a very curious connection between high-end cars, and high-end boats. We’re going to go out on a limb and say the connection could be high-end, as in exclusive to those with the finances to play in such a manner. In the last year or so we’ve seen the Niniette 66 luxury yacht created with inspiration from the Bugatti Chiron. Then came Porsche’s yacht, which was built by Dynamiq and designed in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche but bared no resemblance to any Porsche car.

Now, Mercedes-AMG is getting in on the action, but don’t expect to see another lavish yacht equipped with $400,000 deck furniture. This one is built by Cigarette – the company known for offshore powerboats that hit triple-digit speeds – and it’s called the Cigarette Racing 515 Project ONE. Yes, this water rocket is a collaboration between the two companies and it draws inspiration from the insane Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar.

A PHEV Boat is Bull Sh!T..Full Electric is the Only Way to go! (Plug it in When Docked) With Lots of Room for Batteries in the Hull Which Results in Great Balance . Super Power, Great Range , Super Cheap To operate With WAY Less Parts to Break. ..Hybrid Only Complicates Things By adding a GAS Engine and more “USELESS” Parts That are Vulnerable to Breakage. ONLY GOOD FOR THEIR PARTS & LABOR BUSINESS and NOTHING ELSE!. NO THANKS ! I’LL Pass !

You must not know about high speed off shore power boat energy requirements. Pretty much like saying unless a high speed sport airplane is 100% battery powered, it’s is bullsh!t. High speed planes and boats have considerably different power requirement than today’s EVs. We are not talking about a little lake fishing boat with a trolling motor.

How about a boat that has no power…until you drive your car into it and plug the boat into that….
