Meet Wolverine, Professor X, Iceman & Beast At Tesla’s Factory – Video

MAY 8 2015 BY MIKE ANTHONY 6

You may have heard these names while watching X-Men, but now you will hear them again at the Tesla factory.

5 months ago, Tesla retooled its factory and gave multiple large robots their own names based off of X-Men characters: Wolverine, Professor X, Iceman, & Beast… You can check out further info on the retooling by clicking here.

As you watch the video above, you will see what each of these large robots do.

You will also hear that because of their names, the robots come off less intimidating, have a personality (not literally), & are part of the team.  Why not make the factory more fun?

We wonder if Tesla Motors will add any other superheroes at the upcoming Gigafactory…

This may be a new video, but this isn’t “new” news. Tesla started naming production line robots after X-Men team members years ago.

“You may have heard these names while watching X-Men…”

*Hmph!* Real X-Men fans read the names in comics long before anybody ever thought of making an X-Men movie. (And yes, this is an “I’m geekier than thou” post. 🙂 )

Don’t forget the new mutants.

That’s pretty cool. Offices generally have funky themed names for the conference rooms so why not name the robots at a factory?

When I get my Mitbushi i-miev I’m planning on naming it Galactus after Galactus the world devourer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galactus

The reason is I would be like the Sliver Surfer trying to feed Galactus by finding it quick charging stations to drain energy from. Not to mention the i-miev like Galactus after he feeds starts complaining the cosmic hunger is upon me find me another world to devour. Or in the i-miev’s case the hunger is upon me find me another charging station or else I will leave you on the side of the road.

Wait a minute, Tesla P85D is Galactus.

What’s Signature Red doing, coming off the line at the end?
