Seen here is the final production version of the McLaren P1 GTR.

The 986 HP P1 GTR is available only to McLaren P1 owners and it’s strictly a track-only car.

Per Autocar:

“The Instant Power Assist System powertrain’s power output has been significantly boosted over its application in the road-going P1. The twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 now produces 789bhp (up from 727bhp in the standard P1) and the electric motor has 197bhp (up from 176bhp). The combined output is 986bhp, up from 903bhp. Weight has also been saved by removing powertrain features designed specifically for road use.”

“The aerodynamic package on the P1 GTR is even more extensive than on the P1 road car. The most striking element is the large, fixed rear wing, which sits 400mm above the bodywork, 100mm more than the adjustable rear wing on the road car at its highest setting.”

What’s it cost?  Well, first you’d have to be the owner of a $1 million P1.  Only 375 of those owners exist worldwide.  Then, to buy the P1 GTR, you’d have to cough up an additional $3 million or so for a car that can only ever be driven on the track.

Thanks Eric, I thought we covered this the other day.. Love it, not very electrifying and I still prefer the gorgeous F1 – including BMW soundtrack.. Or a R8-etron!! Or a Rimac maybe…

paraphrasing – “when they get to the international racing circuits, they’ll have their own coach, garage, livery, engineer, etc…waiting for them”

Impose this reality on the depiction of wealthy ‘Arthur’, in the namesake 1981 movie, and you’ll see how far we’ve come. Just sayin’.

That McClaren just needs a Green Bay Packers logo on it. Then it would be PERFECT! 😉
