Via Autocar:

“Rumours of the electric sports car surfaced in the summer, but Maserati has now confirmed the pure-electric model as the second powertrain of the new Alfieri, to be launched a year after the twin-turbo petrol V6-engined sportscar makes its debut in 2019.”

Autocar says that emissions regulations will force Maserati to ditch the concepts original V8 powertrain in favor of a twin-turbo V6 and that those same regulations have convinced the automaker to offer a pure electric version too.

It’s believed that Alfieri will ride on an all-new platform that’s designed for electric from the get-go. This means that several other BEV Maserati could be coming in the future and that all of these BEVs will ride on this platform, or a modified version of this platform.

The real question what they want for it.

Really? Think of what you think is a lot and add 100k to that.

I guess Sergio thinks Batteries will be a deal by then.

Why is the grill sooooo BIG???

I agree – funny ICE holdover. It reminds me a lot of the Z4 I like the Model 3 front styling much more which is in the Porsche, RX7 mode modern, unapologetically electric.

Because the car has a twin-turbo V6.
The can spare themself the EV version. The Aston Martin buyers are classic technology fans. And the stupid comparison Alfieri EV vs Alfieri ICE will work like always.

Finally a Maserati to compete with the 2009 Tesla Roadster. Let’s see Tesla try and sell any more 2009 Roadsters once this comes out in 2020! LoL!

Man is the auto industry glacial. ?

Any Maserati shopper is going to make a side-by-side comparison between the ICE version and its electric brother. I am confident that they will be much more impressed with the electric.

Another obsolete designers are scary that they are making EV car, hense big fake grille. They need to slap on it fake tailpipe too and it will be perfect 😀

Not that I know anything, but who says this is the EV version? ICE would need big grill, and also it has that Maserati trade mark look.
Just take a risk and bring on the EV version. By 2020 things will be a lot different, 4-5yrs battery development should see some good improvements.
