June Brings Record Plug-In Vehicle Sales To France, At More Than 4,500


France again set a new record for plug-in electric vehicle sales. In June, 4,521 were registered (previous record: 4,336), which was also 30.6% more than year ago.

While the all-electric passenger cars were strong at 2,773, the biggest growth (by 140%) was noted in plug-in hybrids, which set a new record at 1,215 deliveries.

In total, passenger plug-ins hold a 1.73% market share in June, with a growth rate of 38.2%.

  • Passenger BEVs: 2,773 registrations (up 16.6%) at 1.2% market share (PC)
  • Passenger PHEVs: 1,215 registrations (up 140%) at 0.5% market share (PC)
  • Light commercial BEVs: 533 registrations (down 38.2%) at 1.1% market share (LCV)

The Renault ZOE nearly exceed its previous best. With 1,882 registrations in June (excluding 101 commercial registrations),  ZOE has now totaled sales 9,242 in the first half, which is 68% of all passenger BEVs.

This year the diesel engine is less than 50% of the market. The decrease of the diesel makes petrol engine, hybrid and rechargeable hybrid increase their share of market.
50% of Toyota sales are hybrid, and BEV are to expensive for the moment, but the success of the Zoé hide the failure of the others. Kia and Hyundai are doing better than VW.
I have more hope from Kia and Hyundai than VW to bring affordable BEV in France.

Nissan have to bring the Leaf II as soon as possible.

They already have the Ioniq PHEV there? Hm. Even Norway doens’t have them yet.
