Jaguar E-Type Zero, I-PACE and Future-Type Featured – Videos
This year’s Jaguar Land Rover Tech Fest was focused on electrification, with three new concept vehicles: the E-Type Zero, I-PACE Concept and the Future-Type. (Gallery images below)
The 1968 Jaguar E-Type Zero converted to electric drive by Jaguar Land Rover Classic is an outstanding project, deeply presented by Autogefühl. Jaguar is currently considering whether or not to offer seamless EV conversions for these old E-Type cars.
The Jaguar E-Type Zero can accelerate from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.5 seconds (one second quicker than ICE version), and with a 40 kWh battery on board, one can travel up to around 270 km (170 miles).
The second concept, the I-PACE will enter retail production in 2018 as the first European electric SUV with range of roughly 500 km (310 miles – NEDC), Jag promises more than 220 miles of real-world range.
The Future-Type is more about “premium compact on-demand vehicle concept, designed to meet the mobility needs of future generations”. The car has fully autonomous abilities, but is still a driveable 2+1 concept, with the crazy idea being that the “steering wheel lives in your home and becomes your trusted companion“.
