Geely Emgrand Cross PHEV Concept Debuts

JUN 21 2014 BY ERIC LOVEDAY 5

There’s a change underway in China.  Yes, the electric vehicle floodgates are opening and the race is now on to get plug-in vehicles into production as quickly as possible.

Geely is one such automaker who’s behind the curve.  In an effort to catch up, Geely will almost certainly push this sub-branded Emgrand Cross Concept, a plug-in hybrid, into production as soon as possible.

Known specs are limited to the following:

  • 88 hp 1.0 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine
  • 54 hp electric motor
  • Electric range is 50 kilometers (31 miles)
  • Total range is 650 kilometers (403 miles)
  • Top speed is 190 km/h (118mph)

The Geely Emgrand Cross PHEV Concept made its world debut at the recent 2014 Beijing Auto Show.  Though called a concept, it sure looks ready for production.  Don’t you think?

Electric range: 50 km = ~31 miles

Since Geely has the Volvo engineers backing them I’m sure that once it goes into production it will be mass produced fast unlike many other producers with little to none experience of EV’s before.

I hope this one comes out soon and that it’s built in six figure numbers at least.

The Geely Emgrand Cross PHEV looks a lot like the Kia C’EED.

not a lot of power just 106 kw or 142 hp if you add it up (which you dont) i wonder how it will ever get to 190kph
