France and Quebec Team Up to Promote EV Collaboration Between Research and Industry
Pauline Marois, the Prime Minister of Québec along with Pierre Moscovici, the Minister of Economy and Finance of France have formed a Franco-Québec collaboration on electric vehicles to promote research and development, and to develop co-operative strategies between Québec and France.
“This is to make France a privileged partner of Quebec in the electrification of transportation, and complement each other in globalization. To find solutions to increase energy efficiency and safer and cleaner…with positive economic benefits for our businesses and our citizens, ” said Pierre Moscovici.
This group will look to identify potential communal projects between the regions on the building and selling of electric vehicles and the charging infrastructure behind them as well.
Naturally, when we think of the electrification of the automobile in France, we think of Renault and its 4 EVs offerings (Zoe, Fluence ZE, Kangoo ZE and Twizy). Could this co-operation lead to bringing the brand to North America again? Probably not, but we can dream.
