Now that there are many EVs on the market and the Tesla Model 3 is available, why buy a Model S?
With the Tesla Model 3 in the limelight, the Silicon Valley electric automaker's flagship Model S has taken a back seat. This is not only true when it comes to press coverage and reviews, but also in terms of sales. Tesla Model S and Model X sales were at a very low point in Q1 2019.

Of course, a big part of this can be attributed to the fact that the Model S starts at $78,000, which is over double the price of a base Model 3. This YouTube reviewer paid over $130,000 for his loaded Model S P100D.
The current Model S Performance (P100D) starts at $99,000. Add Ludicrous Mode and you're looking at $119,000. However, it can cost you plenty more if you choose to load it up. Still, many people will tell you the Model S is tough to beat not only as far as EVs are concerned, but when compared to most vehicles on the market.
