If Mach 1 isn't an option, how about Thunderbird or Taser?
A tweet in January 2018 (embedded below) heavily implied that Ford's upcoming electric SUV had the name Mach 1. However, American fans didn't like the muscle car moniker showing up on a crossover, and the response was so negative that the Blue Oval has decided to pick a different model name for the EV.

"We put that out there to evaluate it," Ford's president of global markets, Jim Farley, told Automotive News in a recent interview about the EV. "There are pros and cons. I don't want to handicap it at this point, but we got a very strong reaction from people."
Ford clearly needs some help, and the InsideEVs team is happy to provide some assistance. Given the original plan to revive Mach 1 nameplate, the company is clearly willing to bring back an old moniker. We came up with six classic Fords with the right ring to them to work on the electric SUV. Plus, we brainstormed four other names that could fit, too.
