Faraday Future has released a new teaser of its soon-to-be-revealed electric car.

This teaser showcases the interior, which up until now had remained unseen.

The video initially focuses on what appears to be a rather unique seat. However, as The Verge reports, these seats can’t be used by Faraday in the production version of the car. Here’s why, according to The Verge:

“The company recently settled a $10 million lawsuit with Futuris, its seat supplier, over breach of contract. As part of the settlement, FF will need to find a new seat supplier, a process that could take up to two years. And the seats FF plans to show off as part of its production model at CES in a few weeks aren’t seats it can legally use in future models.”

This is but one in a long line of Faraday Future teasers leading up to the grand reveal on January 3rd at a media party ahead of CES, which we’ll be attending, so that we can report live from the scene.

” In addition, these sources revealed to The Verge that the company’s intellectual property is not owned by FF, but by a separate entity named FF Cayman Global, a revelation which raises questions about Faraday Future’s relationship with its investors and suppliers, and could further endanger the company’s success.”
“According to former employees, FF is in effect not one, but two companies, with a separate entity based out of the Cayman Islands just for FF’s intellectual property. “If you’re an investor, you’re fucked,” one ex-executive said. “The company doesn’t own the IP.” ”

    .. myeah ..

I wouldn’t be surprised if halfway through whatever presentation they have planned for CES, the speaker goes “Oh….uh…..and I was just informed we filed for bankruptcy. Show’s over folks!”

        bro dont be cynical,
u , me are not going to buy FF stock, so dont care about the how their companies are aligned. 🙂

i desperately want FF to succeed, The more model more awareness, the better for Electric cars.

Every startup has gone through turbulence. hope they succeed, how ever they can

…it does feel like the “VIP press reveal” on the 3rd might be a bit awkward at this point for Faraday

            1. bro1999 says:

By the time the release rolls around, there will only be a couple of “P’s” left to do it. LOL

Not a Good IDEA to Buy one of These…even if they should go to production ,(which I have my Doubts)They have a Good Chance of going under at some point in the near future & then you have a car that no one can service & no parts Source..you’ll have another Fisker on your hands ..Sounds Real Fishy(*&^%@#$&??

    2. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sven says:

One of these entities may be a wholly owned subsidiary of the other, but it sounds like the former employees don’t think it is.

      1. SJC says:

They loaded FF with debt to pay for another, that is not a good sign.

  2. floydboy says:

They’re going to have to go to a different seat maker now. They settled that lawsuit from Futuris, the current seat maker. So the seats that they show at the unveiling, will likely have to change.

    1. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sven says:

Unless the seats were designed by FF and not Futuris, which might be the case.

  3. ffbj says:

“FF is such a tease, maybe they could tease out some actual cars.”
Quipped one of the old guys in the balcony.

  4. David Murray says:

Wow.. so the car will have seats. Except that they don’t have the money to build the seats or the car.

    1. Pushmi-Pullyu says:

      +2: funny, on-target

  5. scottf200 says:

… the real question if and how many cupholders they have! 🙂

    1. Mikael says:

What do you need to get a car with many cupholders?

      Parents that are cousins…

  6. Josh Bryant says:

They could always bail on these seats and go back to the old 1-seater interior…

  7. DJ says:

$10M??? Damn, how much does it really cost to design seats!

  8. Michael says:

Wow, I just adjusted the levels in the photo to get a better look. Vaporware BS. There isn’t even a steering wheel.
