To Date, Faraday Future Has Moved A Bunch Of Dirt

Faraday Future’s North Las Vegas site modelling

Faraday Future has been busy out at its future factory site in Nevada. Well, if you call moving a bunch of dirt busy, that is.

Moving Some Dirt

Nevada just recently released a report from the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

The report contains info on all the documented work done by Faraday to date (through the end of Q4 2016).

Here’s what’s been done the 176 on-site workers:

1. Capital investment of $160,000,000
2. Completed all site demolition work.
3. Graded and moved over 2.5 million cubic yards of earth on site
4. Completed installation of the underground sewer
5. Completed grading (with the exception of the north and south channels not required for this phase)
6. Certified that the pad for the factory building is at grade and ready for the start of foundations
7. Established on-site offices for both Faraday Future employees and the general contractor
8. Leased additional interim office and meeting space in the city of North Las Vegas.

The Famous January 25th (2016) “Bobcat Tweet” from Faraday – Signalling The Start Of Work On Faraday’s North Las Vegas Production Facility. Since then? Not so much!

Actual construction of the facility (meaning a foundation set, floors poured and wall erected) was supposed to begin at the start of 2017, but it appears as though Faraday is a bit behind.

Recently, we learned that Faraday cancelled plans to build an assembly facility in California. This makes us wonder if the site in Nevada will soon fall to the same fate.

  3. That land must have been prepared for Tesla’s next:
    1) Solar Farm + Energy Sorage Facility,
    2) Multi Vehicle Showroom,
    3) Next Solar Panel / Solar Roof Factory,
Or 4) North Las Vegas Hyperloop Terminal!

People are investing 100s of millions in this farce! Investors will see their money go down the drain and will loose confidence in EV startups. This company is a scam from A to FF to Z…

  6. Four Electrics says:

    Reminds me of:

That was three million cubic yards of dirt.

    1. floydboy says:

Huh?! Are you moving dirt around now?

    2. Pushmi-Pullyu says:

Gotta admit, I’m amazed at the sheer gall of a Tesla hater like “Four Electrics” reminding us about the non-news that the Gigafactory site sat idle for some months between clearing the site and start of major construction.

The non-news that Tesla haters like him used to try to convince us that Tesla wasn’t actually going to build the Gigafactory!

Hey, 4E, how did that work out for your TSLA short-selling, hmmmm? Not so well, did it?
      😀 😀 😀

  7. andychuck says:

How do you spend $150 million moving dirt around? Seriously something strange here.

    1. andychuck says:

As a comparison, Tesla paid $42 million for Nummi: with a factory AND major tooling equipment included. And FF spends $150 with nothing to show for it???

      1. Ned says:

To be fair, $42M for NUMMI was beyond a steal for Tesla. It was practically a gift.

        1. Scramjett says:

Not only that, but Numi was an already built factory with no construction necessary.

          1. SJC says:

That was a ONE time deal that won’t be repeated.

  8. Steve says:

Wow, you really have it in for Faraway Future, don’t you?

    Carry on 🙂

  9. Carcus says:

hey roundeye, Putin got 20% of your uranium,…but we take your lithium …. all you lithium

    1. Scramjett says:

Don’t you mean “all your lithium are belong to us?”

      1. Pushmi-Pullyu says:

ROTFL!! That’s quite literally exactly what I was gonna post! …especially after the pejorative “roundeye” was thrown at us “foreign devils”. 😀

Faraway Future is a SCAM…stay away.
