EVision Supercars (part of H.E. Services Group) launched in the UK a fleet of 34 Tesla Model S available for self-drive hires and a chauffeured service.

All of them are 85 kWh versions and some are even P85.

For example, a 7-day rental costs £1,995 ($3,300).

“EVision Supercars are the UK’s firsts in offering the Tesla Model S for hire on both short and long-term self-drive hires and a chauffeured service to individuals and businesses. Clients can collect their Tesla Model S from the EVision depot, conveniently located in the Rochester area/ less than an hour from Central London, or have their vehicle delivered direct.”

“For those with a finer taste, EVision Supercars also offer bespoke executive chauffeur packages including airport transfer services in London and the South-East. EVision Supercars are dedicated to offering their clients the experience of a luxury Mercedes or Rolls but without the guilt of polluting the planet.”

Hugh Edeleanu, Chairman of EVision Supercars’ parent company, H.E. Group Ltd. commented:

“People are increasingly looking to hire premium cars for both business and leisure and we’re excited to be the UK’s first to offer the Tesla Model S in both the rental and chauffeur markets. Whether for business or pleasure, a city break, long weekend or a longer period, it’s the perfect choice for those looking for a luxury supercar experience that won’t cost the earth!”

So it seems everyone in UK who ordered a Model S got one already? Now Tesla is stuffing the rental companies.

    Well, not exactly………..

Tesla launched in June 2014 in the U.K.

In an article in The Telegraph Musk said:

“The waiting list for the big Model S saloon, which costs £50,000 in its most basic form, is currently running at four months. “Orders are very strong. Something we need to work on is to ramp up production to supply our UK customers in a timely manner,” Musk said.”

I don’t give much credibility to what Elon says. He says lots of things. He might call 20 cars per month “strong orders” and deliver those 6 months later to show that there is high demand.

How many customers are waiting for Model S in UK? Is there some UK government data published? SMMT only shows all electric car sales clubbed together, hard to tell how many Model S sold there

Why would the UK government monitor Model S orders? They have a Scottish rebellion to put down 🙂

The UK government ruled out buying Model S for its fleet because Tesla would not give bulk discounts.

Unlike every major OEM Tesla does not give discounts to rental car companies either. They pay full price like everyone else.

Tesla refused a 5k unit order from NEC Engineering because they would not discount. NEC wants to build modified Model S coupes and convertibles.
