The event was held at Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree site in the New Territories, a popular tourist attraction. The site is near the Tin Hau Temple that was built around 1768 or 1771, during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor in the Qing dynasty.

Many of the local dealers and direct sales manufactures (BMW, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault, Tesla and Volkswagen) have participated by showing off their latest EV models available to the Hong Kong buyers. And YES, manufacturers can open their own direct sales showroom in the city.

HKPC (Hong Kong Productivity Council – an organization supported by government) also displayed their EVSE and quick charging solutions that are locally developed and cooperated with the private sector. A temporary EVSE was setup onsite to provide a quick boost for all EVs.

A test drive circuit was setup for all guest to try out the models displayed in the event. EV owners were also invited to take their own vehicle for spin in the circuit.

Currently, 40 electric vehicle models from seven countries are approved by the Hong Kong Transport Department that can be sold in the city. Among them are 27 models of private vehicle and motorcycles, while the rest are public transport and commercial vehicles.

Yeah, this is pretty neat. The variety of available EV models puts most of the US markets to shame.

I thought that US whats all the world go green. US should lead the world and import all EV cars into the big citys.
