EV Connect has chosen to expand its partnership with GE by signing a joint marketing and product agreement.

Here are the important details:

  • Under the terms of the agreement, GE will be a preferred charging station supplier of EV Connect, and EV Connect will be a preferred management provider for GE charging stations worldwide.
  • The agreement provides EV Connect with direct access to GE’s full line of WattStationTM and DuraStationTM EV charging stations, including a perpetual license to access the GE WattStation Connect cloud-based operating platform.

There’s additional info in the press release below, but basically it all boils down to this: EV Connect, from this point forward, will almost exclusively make use of GE’s charging stations in its network.

I like GE EVSEs.

I have a WattStation (7.4kw) installed 3 years ago. Zero down time. For an appliance that is used every day, this is a pretty good track record.

Some people don’t like the distinctive ‘thunk’ when the thing engages. I think it’s comforting. The beast is over twice as big as I need and that’s a good thing. Should outlast several more cars.

I love a nice big relay. It lets you know something important is happening. The big Clipper Creek unit have a nice be thunk when they engage.

“Giant Thunk”.

The old GE “Durastations” rattled the whole Gas pump sized CASE when the relay ‘thunks’.
