Elon Musk's Wife Talulah Riley Tweets

Talulah Riley Tweets Yesterday That The Road Trip Has Begun

On Sunday, Talulah Riley, tweeted that the “Great American (Electric) Road-trip” had begun.

Of course, Riley is referring to the epic coast-to-coast family road trip that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had discussed on several occasions in the past.

*UPDATE: And now that the ‘cat is out of the bag’, Elon Musk himself is now Tweeting updates and photos from the family road trip.  (You can follow his tweets in real time on his twitter account here)

Most recently (2 months ago), Elon Musk took to the Twitter airwaves to reveal that his National Lampoon’s-style family trek across the nation in a Model S was scheduled to take place during “Spring Break.”

“Spring Break” typically falls sometime between mid-March and mid-April, which means now’s the time for that trip to take place.

Musk’s adventure will undoubtedly be exciting to follow (provided he updates us during the adventure), as family road trips almost always are.  We wonder if Musk has the whole family along for this trip, thus utilizing all 7 seats in the Model S.

Per previous Tweets from Musk, we expect the 6-day, 3,200-mile journey to be accomplished with only 9 hours spent charging.

Here’s a look back at the Tweets posted by Musk on the road trip topic over the last 6 or so months:

For those who aren’t familiar with Talulah Riley, here’s a Wikipedia excerpt:

Nice! Was thinking they bailed on it. Hopefully it generates a ton more free publicity. They should have taken the Model X prototype to really spice it up!

No, not bailed. Musk’s schedule has recently opened up with the fire that took out the Tracking Radar System at Cape Canaveral. His Falcon 9 launch is on hold until after repairs are made: for at least three weeks. Time to relax with the family and drive around the countryside. 🙂

Agreed. Too bad the X isn’t farther along to use…

Talula Tweets and the world listens.
Gag me with a spoon.

Are we just not noticing the fact that it appears re-hired, or, um, remarried her for this publicity event?

I figured earlier that Justine would be in the caravan for at least a partly-functional broken family road trip. Apparently that cooperation was not to be.

Elon said that are back together but havent remarried

@Volt: Not true, they remarried / undivorced, and Talulah describes Elon as her husband again. For example:

She said at one point that she came back to him to prevent him from going “king crazy”. So far, so good!

So basically, if you want to meet Elon, wait around at a supercharger station.

Given that an S85 only needs to hit 1/3 of the chargers along the way, you might still miss him.

I’d still give it a try if he were coming through Texas.. but he’s not so I guess I won’t.

I saw them twice in Utah last week. Charged next to Elon.

This article needs a reference for some of us who don’t know who Talulah Riley is. (Yes, I Google’d her, but the article should have SOME mention…)

Thanks! 🙂

If it’s 3200 miles 9 hours of charging should be enough. Per Tesla’s website 30 minutes adds 170 miles, so 18 30 minute sessions equals 3060 miles plus the 260 miles the car starts out with = 3200 miles plus ~120 miles of range to spare.

500 miles per day. About 8 hours per day drive time. For 6 days straight. With 5 kids.

Is anyone else having trouble making sense of this?

Bonds will be broken and forged. Some will laugh and some will cry…

Typical family overbooking a trip. NBD.

She is hot, Elon scored with her.

Yeah, she’s got 85kwh of energy and silent as the day is long.

Hey, you think Elon’s Model S is equipped with the new undercarriage shields?

Are you kidding? His personal car probably has the “As yet unannounced hovercraft mode”, phasers, and deflector shields.

Elon and Talulah back together again?

He really does live the life of a Hollywood celebrities, starlet marriage-divorce-marriage and all.

I wonder how it’s like to be one of the 5 kids, though.

I might have an idea, because for 3 years I dated a gal from a 6-kids family whose parents have lived the high life. Overall it’s hard to keep up and remember you’re also a person and not just part of some brand-name “team”.

This could have the makings of something very un-spectacular.

Hope not.

3200 in 6 days is a little over 500mi/day. That’s overbooked in my experience. With pit and pee and just-because stops, you can barely make 50 mi/hr average. That’s over 10 hrs of driving!!! Per day!!!!

Hey, Tallulah know how to drive, too, I bet.

Are we there yet?

Apparently not. Read they got snowed in at Mount Rushmore.

Well I’ve been waiting at the Albert Lea, MN Supercharger since 2 pm yesterday (April 1st). Absolutely no sign of Elon. I feel discouraged and tired. Heading home. They must be taking their time with this trip.
