Zero Motorcycles announced that Edelweiss Bike Travel in Austria included six electric motorcycles for its guided motorcycle tours.

The fleet consists of four Zero S ZF11.4 and two Zero DS ZF11.4, all with top specification equipped with the additional Power Tank battery module, which increases available nominal energy from 10 to 12.5 kWh.

According to Zero, daily routes of 125 miles (200 km) are possible, even in the Alps

The first tour scheduled for late July was fully booked.  7 days vacation with 5 riding days costs from €2,390 to €2,700 per person depending on variant.

“The travel specialists offer weeklong tours from their office in Mieming, Austria. Covering over 600 miles (1000 km), many famous alpine highlights will be seen while riding in near silence: the Stelvio, Timmelsjoch, the Silvretta High Alpine Road, Reschensee, Hahntennjoch, Kühtai, Gavia Pass, Dolomites and the Mendel Pass. Participants will stay in cozy hotels with regional flair.”

“The first tour scheduled for late July is fully booked. Additional dates for this year and 2015 are available at http://www.edelweissbike.com/en/cont/eur/alpine-backroads-zero-emission-tour.html. Zero Motorcycles and Edelweiss are pioneers of noise and emissions free motorcycle travel in environmentally sensitive areas such as the Alps, providing a unique experience in a place of legendary beauty while riding a high performance electric motorcycle.”
