From time to time, Dubai attracts our attention, like in case of introducing the BMW i8 for police.

One of latest EVs initiatives in Dubai is to install 100 charging stations by the end of this year.

Stations will be available to the public, but also used by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), which recently placed an order for 8 Renault ZOE.

First 16 charging points seems to be AC, available for public use. Each station can handle two vehicles. The remaining 84 will be different types of stations (some of them will be fast chargers).

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dewa said:

“The introduction of electric vehicles to Dewa’s fleet supports these strategies and complements one of the three initiatives that Dewa is undertaking to achieve the Smart Dubai initiative by the rollout of 100 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations by the end of this year.”
