If you happen to reside in the UK and drive an average of less than 9 miles per day, than Renault has a cheaper Zoe EV lease tailored to meet your needs.

The 48-month lease requires a down payment of only £1000 ($1,634 USD).  The monthly payments is only £189 ($309 USD) and the battery rental is £45 ($74 USD) per month.

Sounds enticing to us, but the annual mileage cap of 3,000 is a real turn off.

Clearly, this lease is for those who basically never drive, so why even get an automobile then?

You’d be better served by hailing a taxi or using public transport if you only ever need to travel 3,000 miles or less in a year.

Or just buy a Renault Zoe EV.  In the UK, that’ll only cost you £13,995 ($22,869USD) after incentives, plus monthly battery rental, which varies based on how many miles you plan on driving.

The economics don’t really work here in the UK unless you live in London with its congestion charge.

You can lease a petrol equivalent for perhaps £99 pm, and petrol for 3,000 miles a year would only cost around the same as the battery lease even at our petrol prices.

There may be lots of reasons to go electric, but money outside London is not one of them..

This is the crappiest car deal I have ever heard you could get a i-MEV and drive around like a King.

They are barely promoting the iMiEV in the UK now.

The website does not even mention a lease price, but judging by the sales price it would be paying a King’s ransom to drive like a somewhat cramped King.

The E-Up is £4k cheaper.

Renault need to scrap the mandatory battery lease, atlease give us the option to buy it.
