This particular one was built by Kreisel Electric in Austria and is a fully functional vehicle in Linz.

According to Kreisel Electric, these types of vehicles are another perfect fit for electric conversions because typically a fire truck covers only short distances and charging can be done in between calls.

The base for the conversion was a Mercedes Sprinter.

What makes this news significant is that this was done in partnership with Rosenbauer, which is the largest fire truck manufacturer in the world (and second largest in the USA).

I wonder when they can do conversions to legitimate Seagrave, American LaFrance, and Pierce type sized engine pumpers?
