Canada is the Latest Stop on the BYD eBus Test Tour

BYD, together with the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) and Société de transport de Montréal (STM) transit companies, launched an electric bus evaluation program in Canada.
The China-built electric eBus will be tested in Ottawa and Montreal until May of next year.
One of the main objectives is to test eBus in varying weather conditions. The idea here is to compare the eBus’ performance to diesel powered buses in cold climates. Thus far, little real-world testing has been done on the eBus in cold temps. Quebec’s climate though will put the eBus to the test.
In the southern United States and in China, the eBus’ range of 155 miles with A/C on is achievable thanks to 324-kWh battery pack. But what will the range be in cold weather? We should find out this winter.
