BYD plug-in electric car sales surged in China, exceeding for the very first time over 5,000 deliveries in one month (counting Qin, Tang and e6 models).

5,062 deliveries in July is nearly four times higher than a year earlier, so as Tang just appeared on the market, imagine what comes next.

The plug-in hybrid SUV Tang, in its second month, achieved 723 sales.

Qin, on the other hand, hardly improved month-to-month sales 20-times in a row by 15 units to 4,030.

e6 remains at a stable level of 309.

so thats whats causing all the explosions! jk

Nah, thats fossil fuels 🙂

It looks like the Qin, of which over 4,000 were sold, basically is the BYD version of the Chevrolet Volt.

And the Tang seems to play in the Outlander PHEV field. Fine with me.

Actually, wasn’t the BYD F3DM PHEV launched in mass production in Dec 2008… so the basically the Volt was a version of the BYD F3DM ??

The BYD e6 sedan has a 186 mile range on 1 charge. Their line of buses is also being in Livermore California and selling very good in the USA.

Watch for them in your area soon. China is big and by moving production to each country can be seen as domestic made.
