The 2014 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is already behind us with new EV records.  Now, the first videos from the race are beginning to arrive.

The first is a Brutus V2 Rocket on-board video. Jeremiah Johnson, with a time of 12:20.448, won the Electric Modified Bike class, however we must note that this racing machine was slightly slower than the Zero S motorcycle.

Brutus was equipped with a sound signal, which could wake the dead, so don’t say we didn’t warn you.

“We finished first in Modified Electric Motorcycle class. The race rules require a sound emitter of 120 db. The siren is the best solution for racing. If the sound annoys you, turn your volume down.”

And now something sedating:

“This is the return trip after everyone has raced up the mountain.”

As it turns out, Brutus V2 Rocket is available for sale from ~ $26,490:

Transitioning onto a dirt road at 50+ MPH = Pucker Factor

Very much so, Bobby Goodin suffered fatal injuries in just that spot this year (non-electric motorcycle) while slowing after the finish line.

That’s just sad, getting beat by a Zero.

Very cool! One request, please never put a continuous car alarm throughout an entire video.
