Hehe, those “Clever BMW Wallboxes” take up alot of wall space in compact garages.

I’d think for the American market most people would use either the ‘occasional use 110 charger brick’ which comes with the car, or else put in their own aftermarket wallbox at a cost much less than BMW’s overhyped product.

VW seems to like BOSCH, which, the Chinese rebranded unit is attractive enough, functional, reliable, and low-cost, as does apparently GM, and Mitsubishi. They only come in 16 or 30 amp J1772 (1 phase) units, with varying cord lengths, and are very reasonably priced and weatherproof.

I bet most people forget the stylized BMW offering and, at least in the states, use the stuff Bosch is pushing. At least the VW electrics meet emissions requirements without cheating.
