BMW M, a subsidiary of BMW, that offers higher performance versions of BMW cars is currently electricless, but that could change in the future.

BMW M

According to BMW M CEO Frank Van Meel, the road to a fully electric BMW M goes through a hybrid version first as a intermediate step.

There is no time frame available for the electrification of BMW M, because the company claims it first needs to get more capable components, especially batteries, as we understand it.

The CEO thinks this will take at least several years, at the earliest.

The main question is also whether the typical BMW M customer will be willing to switch to electric drive or if there is a generational change in buyers needed first?

BMW doesn’t need time to make better batteries, it needs time to secure ‘enough’ batteries since they are behind the curve compared to Tesla amd BTD

Hybrid……….lol
That’s so 2005.

Well BMW just had a record breading January, and plug ins represented over 5% of sales in the US even.
