BMW i8 Gets Matte Black Wrap – Video

The finished product… I do not think we need to provide a caption for this.

The finished product

“The Brand New 2014 BMW i8 custom wrapped using Orcal’s Matte Charcoal Metallic film. One of the first i8’s wrapped in the country came out looking amazing!”

Excell Auto Group gets its hands on the brand new BMW i8 for a custom wrap.

A wrap is an alternative for those looking to change the exterior look of a vehicle, with an endless variety of colors without having to repaint the vehicle.

Throughout the video, you’ll see some before, in-progress, and final result shots.

And what an impressive result it is! Stealth mode activated!  Well, as stealth as the eye-catching BMW i8 can be.

What are your thoughts on this matte black wrap for the i8? What color would you do it up in?

When this vinyl wrap becomes tatty, how easy would it be to remove/replace? Would the original surface be damaged in any way should removal rather than replacement be desired? I wonder what the future of these vinyl wraps would be.

Vinyl wraps usually last at least 5 – 7 years. When removed, the paint is unaffected; think of it as locking in the paint’s current condition at the time of wrapping. Installation and removal can be tedious.
