40 Nissan LEAFs Join Spanish Rental Fleet
JUN 12 2014 BY MIKE ANTHONY
Zem2ALL, a Spanish-Japanese project for zero emissions driving, added 40 new Nissan LEAFs to its Malaga, Spain fleet, bringing the electric vehicle total to 200 in the fleet.
The fleet makes use of 23 rapid charging points. 6 of those feature vehicle-to-grid reverse charging ability.
A local dealer, SAFA Motor, will have all 40 LEAFs available to rent by the hour or by the day. Business users will be the majority of renters.
Back in March of this year, drivers have passed a milestone of 1.5 million kilometers in this Zem2ALL project. It is supported by the Japanese New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) and Spanish Technology Centre CDTI. A utility company Endesa leads the project in Malaga.
Sustainable mobility is a high priority, as Managing director of Nissan Iberia, Marco Toro, stated:
“Our company has a strong commitment to sustainable mobility, through the promotion of infrastructure in Spain, making new 100% electric vehicles, public disclosure agreements with agencies public leaders and participation in projects in the field as Zem2All.”
“This commitment to zero emission transport has the support of the dealer network, which contributes its local strength and capillarity in the territory to which electric vehicles are becoming a major option.”
