14-Year-Olds Can Now Drive Renault Twizy On Public Roads In France
Renault sells its two seat Twizy in both an Urban 45 and Urban 80 trim level. The main difference between the two is the top speeds: 45 km/hr (28 mph) and 80 km/hr (50 mph).
Part of the reason for the two models was two distinct classifications.
The Urban 45 being a “light quadricycle” and the Urban 8 a “heavy quadricycle”, as such the Urban 45 (from €6,990 ), was more easily accessed by the youths of Europe.
Now thanks to the European Union’s harmonization of driving licenses, which concerns these “light quadricycles” which are limited to a 4 kW engine, teenagers as young as 14 in France, Italy or Spain can get behind the wheel of a new Twizy.
Kids these days have it rough.
