The Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine has just begun to appear in the U.S. in relatively high numbers recently.

In January, 226 of T8 plug-in hybrids were sold, which is nearly 10% of all 2,375 XC90 sold globally that month. That was also enough to secure 10th place among all plug-ins in the US.

Above we have quick look at the XC90 T8 Twin Engine at the 2016 Washington Auto Show. We see the exterior and interior with a lot of focus on the details.

The car is available from $64,510 including the federal tax credit and has about 14 miles of all-electric range, according to EPA on the 9.2 kWh battery. It’s AWD too.

Electric? With such low specs for it’s electrification, why bother? To me it signals a mediocrity of thought and ambition but then I’m not a big fan of hybrid cars either. Over engineered nonsense.

Around 100 hp to move a 2.5 ton truck… Electric only mode is a joke in this vehicle.

HP is not so important as Nm 🙂

The other commenters sound like such Haters. This is a beautiful, well built and great suv for many who want to ease into electric vehicles. Can’t please everyone all the time. Start thinking outside the box! I’m pretty granola but you would never catch me dead in the ugly hybrids. The tesla was sweet but when I test drove it, the interior was so cheap! The BmW hybrid is a joke. There is no interior space because of their hybrid layout. If there is a yoga equivalent in the car realm this is it…a BALANCE between quality, performance, safety and innovation.
