“The testing programme for the McLaren P1 has continued at a relentless pace in some of the harshest and most challenging conditions.”

P1 Testing in Extreme Heat

“This summer, the development team pushed the limits of the car to further extremes across North America, in some of the hottest and most arid conditions on the planet.”

And this video showcases some of the extreme hot-weather testing conducted on the visually stunning McLaren P1.

Temperatures soared to 126 degrees Fahrenheit in some of the locations as McLaren pushed the P1 to its limits in Arizona, Nevada and California this summer.

The $1-million P1 is nearly sold out (total production run is only 375 units), but some examples still remain.  That’s why McLaren is still promoting the P1.

P1 buyers can expect to enjoy all of this:

  • o to 62 miles per hour in under 3 seconds
  • 0 to 124 miles per hour in less than 7 seconds
  • 0 to 186 miles per hour in 17 seconds
  • 903 total horsepower
  • 664 pound-feet of torque
  • Electric-only range of up to 12.5 miles at an average speed of 30 mph
  • Top speed 218 mph
  • Curb weight 3,086 pounds

    Dear McLaren,

I am happy to test your P1 here in Phoenix:) I have an incredibly hot garage, a Level 2 charger, and a penchant for speed. Best of all, I’ll work for free. Talk soon,
