This is the BMW i3 at full throttle.

i3 Gets Floored

i3 Gets Floored

Listen for the electric whine as the i3 whizzes from 0 to 93 mph (limited top speed) in 18.5 seconds.

This may well be the first time we’ve seen the i3 pushed to the max, so watch closely.

As Autoblog.nl states in the description of this video:

“The most important test with the new BMW i3: a topspeed run! Acceleration is nice with this all new electric BMW, but the topspeed is limited to 150 km/h (93 mph).”

Wow I am impressed Tesla for sale 🙂

The tachometer has a too low refresh rate, the jumping numbers look very cheap…

The digital speedometer works just like on my Volt (and probably like all digital displays). It doesn’t display every number – it skips if it is going really fast.

I was disappointed to see that Tesla jumped on the stupid digital speedometer bandwagon with the S.
Maybe they also have an analog readout; it is an LCD display after all.

Some things are better digital, some analog; you do not always need to see your exact speed.

Those sninny tires look silly. I’ll bet you can only get them through BMW like the TRX tires on the 1980s mustangs they will be hard to find replacements
