Translogic recently went for a ride on an electric scooter called the Rover, in Portland, Oregon.

Rover made by Works Electric is an aluminum, folding scooter, which in BR version can go up to 35 mph and has a range of 28 miles. The base version can go up to 28 mph and has an 18-mile range (detailed specs can be found here).

Cost of this 600 MPGe device stands at $4,950 for base version and $5,750 for BR.

Works Electric CEO Brad Baker presented a custom electric chopper too, which is one-off project.

  1. Ambulator says:

I wonder where you can ride that scooter. It wouldn’t be legal on either the street or a bike lane around here.

  2. Talon says:

In the UK at least it probably wouldn’t be legal anywhere apart from on private land. Not that I wouldn’t want one myself!

I think the law needs tweaking to account for small electric transportation. I’d still be happy if the top speed had to be lowered for this to happen.
