Toyota Shows Off Toy-Like Electric Camatte57s Concept in Tokyo (w/video)
Toyota will debut the Camatte57s and Camatte57s Sport at the Tokyo Toy Show 2013 starting on June 13.
The idea behind these electric, toy-like machines is that they unite the family to construct the ideal vehicle. It’s not about the Camatte57s, says Toyota. Rather, it’s an idea that brings families together to work on a project.
Camatte57s has 57 detachable panels that are constructed of lightweight materials. This means that they can be easily removed, customized by the family and then re-attached to the vehicle.
The 1+2 seating arrangement, along with moveable pedals and steering wheel, allow for young kids to operate the accelerator and brakes while adults do the steering. Sounds a bit too scary for us.
Luckily, neither of these concepts are street-legal machines, which means we don’t have to worry about youngsters steering one of these into something of value.
Toyota presents these as concepts only and say that the word “camatte” comes from the Japanese word for “care.”
The Camatte 57s will be on display at the Kids Life Zone at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2013, which runs from June 13 through June 16 at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
