It all started several months ago when a group of anti-Tesla advocates put slips of paper spelling out the Tesla “truths” on vehicle in San Francisco.

That same group is now back at it again with this:

“TESLA’S HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO HAVE BEEN FOUNDED BY ORGANIZED CRIME-CLASS BRIBES AND CORRUPTION IN ORDER TO SELL CANCER-CAUSING LITHIUM ION BATTERIES OWNED BY CAMPAIGN INVESTORS. BY DRIVING THAT CAR; YOU SUPPORT CRIME, ENVIRONMENTAL POISONING AND PSYCHOTIC POWER-MAD BILLIONAIRES! THE BRIBES ARE PROVEN. THE CANCER CAUSING EFFECTS OF THE CHEMICALS IN LITHIUM ION BATTERIES IS PROVEN. THE TOXIC NATURE OF THE BUILDING THAT CAR IS PROVEN.”

THIS IS YOUR TESLA MOTORS INTERVENTION:

BORN IN BRIBES AND CORRUPTION, FORGED IN FIRES, AND MORE FIRES, AND STILL MORE FIRES AND SOME EXPLOSIONS, THE TOXIC TESLA CRIME-MOBILE THAT YOU ARE DRIVING IS FULL OF LIES AND CANCER CAUSING MATERIAL. WE WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT THE LOOK ON PEOPLE’S FACES, WHEN YOU DRIVE BY, MAY NOT BE ENVY BUT, RATHER: DISGUST!

BRIBED: 5 Senators, 8 Senior Agency Staff and 2 White House Staff.

Why do “YOU” want to be a part of that? Let’s examine the facts and details …

… Some of the people involved have worked at Tesla and claim to have witnessed: “Organized crime on a first hand basis.”

Two members have subscriptions to the Axciom Privacy Abuse database. They thought: “hmmm, why not use something evil for good purposes by helping to inform, and save, hapless Tesla owners who got screwed during the information Green-wash!”

Members found out that major media outlet owners (Engadget, Google, AUTOBLOG GREEN, Gizmodo, Jalopnik, etc.) had stock in the Tesla and battery cartels and, thus, covered up the first investigation results.

They want to clean the market more completely than an email “accident” on an IRS Hard Drive.

Does that sound like a big project? It isn’t! After nearly a decade and billions of dollars of your tax money, Tesla has only sold .5% of the cars that their competing electric, or gas cars have sold for the same investments in time and dollars. Nobody wants a Tesla except Tesla’s investors and douche-bag surgeons who then crash them and kill people. So, relatively speaking, there are not that many people to hunt down.

Our take? This group wouldn’t be so adamantly against Tesla we’re it not for the automaker’s amazing level of success.  With success comes those who will try to take you down in any possible way.

As for these “truths,” we know first-hand thatmajor media outlet owners (Engadget, Google, AUTOBLOG GREEN, Gizmodo, Jalopnik, etc.)” don’t have stock in Tesla or battery cartels.  In fact, most media outlets (InsideEVs included) are forbidden from having stock in a company in or related to the field in which the media outlet specializes in.  That’s the truth, so by definitively dispelling this we can assume that the rest of the “truths” presented above have little to no merit whatsoever.

    2. See Through says:

I’m not saying that these protesters are correct. But this article’s claim that Media doesn’t own shares is wrong. Check the article link below by Daniel Sparks of fool.com. Read the footnotes. This guy writes rosy articles about Tesla all the time.

      http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/08/06/tesla-motors-incs-demand-is-growing-faster-than-pr.aspx

“Daniel Sparks owns shares of Apple and Tesla Motors. The Motley Fool recommends Apple and Tesla Motors. The Motley Fool owns shares of Apple and Tesla Motors.”

        Here, read this:
        http://www.fool.com/legal/fool-disclosure-policy.aspx

“Many financial publications do not permit their writers and editors to own stocks. The Motley Fool not only permits, but also encourages its staff to invest in common stock.”

        1. See Through says:

OK, good one. But I won’t be surprised if more institutions are like that. It’s hard for bloggers and small contributors to not invest in related stock, if they believe in that.

I haven’t seen the insideevs disclosuure policy. It will be interesting to see that – whether its contributors have positions.

    3. See Through says:

And I bet some of the so called independent contributors of insideevs also have positions in Tesla or other EV related shares. Worse, insideevscom doesn’t even require a disclosure of the author’s position.

  2. pete g says:

It’s all true. The voices inside my head can confirm it.

Of course you left out the part about Tesla driving zombie ninjas following me around.

  3. I look at this as good. I knew Microsoft was here to stay when the nut jobs came out or the wood work.

  4. Smeghead says:

It just goes to show that the tinfoil nutjobs will protest anything.

  5. pete g says:

I’ll believe Tesla is here to stay when they get out of this abusive relationship with Toyota.

Wow. See what happens when you cut Healthcare funding.

  7. SeattleTeslaGuy says:

Right up there with chemtrails and non-ionizing radiation. And while we’re at it, lets get rid of DHMO (di-hydro monoxide). It’s been found in malignant tumors and inhalation of it is a leading cause of death.

    1. Brian says:

Careful, your last two points about “DHMO” are true. Wouldn’t want to muddy the waters with the truth…

      1. SeattleTeslaGuy says:

When my kid was in 5th grade I gave him one of the those DHMO fact sheets to take to his teacher (who was “big” on science). She actually thought it was for real. My first thought when I heard that is “we’re doomed”.

        1. Brian says:

          ::facepalm::

  8. Leptoquark says:

    Tesla crime-mobile? I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting that 🙂

  9. Brian says:

    Misinformation terrorist?

It sounds like they are trying to use fear to incite guilt to achieve their ends. Would this work on a single Tesla owner? I get the feeling that they are, as a whole, very well informed…

  10. JRMW says:

FORGED IN FIRES, AND MORE FIRES, AND STILL MORE FIRES AND SOME EXPLOSIONS

Classic! Epic! This has to be the most cogent and well elucidated argument that I have ever seen.

I’ll tell you what though: after I stop laughing I’m never going to buy a Tesla again.

On a side note: there are reasonable arguments against Tesla’s business practices. But this flyer is beyond comical

    1. FSJ says:

Yeah, reminds me of a Beavis and Butthead sketch.

  11. You cover this obviously absurd smear attack against the company, but you say nothing about the real scandal: Tesla has been earning fraudulent ZEV credits for two years.

    http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/12/21/the-tesla-battery-swap-is-the-hoax-of-the-year/

    1. James says:

Folks wonder what is wrong with this country. When a huge cartel like the oil industry gets billions in AMERICAN TAXPAYER SUBSIDIES EACH YEAR, and “geniuses” like Alberto Zaragoza Comendador feel it is their duty to “expose” Tesla for it’s battery-swap situation!

Alberto may believe his heart is in the right place – OR, he may be just another shill for the oil industry, or larger conglomerate of auto industry legal hacks who’ve banded together to attack electric cars – and Tesla, being the most famous and
      renowned.

Alberto clearly things a few million dollars of tax money is more important than these billions of wasted taxpayer money spent to enrich oil companies and Arabian sheiks.

They love to quote the WSJ who quotes Fox News who quote WSJ. Both entities are owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, whose largest stockholder Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud of Saudi Arabia! How’s THAT for scandal
      reporting?!!!

So OPEC-be-damned! Alberto sees Tesla’s playing of ZEVs as big scandal, yet I see it as it is. Tesla has been open often as to it’s batt-swap plan. They demonstrated the viability of batt-swap, as he reports, in June ’13, and then were hit with a few battery fires caused by the low-riding nature of Model S’s auto-lowering mechanism.
Tesla reacted as any good corporation should, and sent fixes over satellite to every Model S, to reconfigure the system to manual-only. Then, history shows us Tesla acted swiftly and surely to upgrade every single Model S ever sold with protective hardware to prevent any puncturing of a Model S battery pack. All this costs money. And think of Tesla, an infant company –
being able to fund such a comprehensive modification program without an official recall! They are simultaneously building Supercharger charging centers throughout the nation and world. Also – entering the Japanese market as I write this after Europe and China.

So Alberto feels it’s a major story to point out that Tesla put it’s battery swap program on hold, yet has received ZEV credits for batt-swap. Tesla has said batt-swap is in play, but has taken a backseat of late because of the aforementioned expenses to update/modify it’s fleet. Alberto seems to believe money grows on trees. He thinks Tesla is GM, or Toyota. He forgot to remember Tesla is a tiny company compared to most other auto companies.

Alberto sounds like one of those people pining to be important in our society by seeking out “improprieties” and making them his goal in life to “expose”.

Alberto? You are only exposing yourself as a heel-biter who is trying to make some literary waves or draw attention to yourself by trying to damage an American company hiring American workers at a blinding pace, and helping our American economy grow.

Alberto? If you took your head out of your hindquarters for one minute, you’d see Tesla is building a Gigafactory in Nevada that will employ thousands of Americans. You’d know that Tesla is going up against not one, but TWO HUGE CORPORATE MEGA GIANTS – the auto industry and oil industry at once, and that this little David is slaying the giants!

You seem to have pity on those poor, poor oil barons, the oil sheiks and be blind to those heinous subsidies they receive, whilst attacking the little guy – the up-and-comer who is attempting something NOBODY ELSE HAS EVER DARED TO DO AND SUCCEEDED AT. Nope, instead, folks like Alberto have found a tiny soapbox to make a stand on – a technicality in $s that, compared to the gigantic improprieties of these other industries, pales in comparison.

So you go ahead, Alberto. I see you as no more respectable or valid than any nutjob bloviator such as these guys putting flyers on cars detailed in today’s article.

    2. Jesse Gurr says:

Battery swapping is a hoax? Its as much a hoax as hydrogen is! Oh, wait, bad example. 😛

Seriously, in “your” article, that you linked, that you actually wrote yourself, you said you couldn’t explain why CARB gave Tesla the class V when they weren’t even rated for 300 miles? You did all this research and still can’t explain this simple discrepancy?

I’ll tell you why, it’s because the rating is based on the old EPA test, not the new one that gave them 265 miles. The old rating test will give them over 300 miles. This is also why all the other automakers get the Type 2 ZEV worth 3 credits even though their cars don’t get 100 miles on EPA test, it’s because on the old test, they do get 100 miles. Make sense now?

There is so much wrong with your article that you wrote, I don’t really think you are a credible reporter that does proper research. Good Day to you sir!

    3. Suryq says:

I thought Tesla gets the credits for making a swap capable car. The fact that no stations exist yet don’t take away from the fact that the car is capable to do the swaps. I would. Be surprised if the regulation said Tesla had to provide the infrastructure themselves.

  12. ffbj says:

Really poor graphics layout. A 10 year old could have done a better job. Musk’s head is terribly done in proportion to the body.
A fantasy concocted by the black helicopter people. I suppose that is why they chose NV, with the mob influence there.

    1. pete g says:

I thought the graphics were hilarious. Eric had to be quick because this was racing to the garbage can.

I heard that the Illuminati owns 51% of Tesla now.

  14. Jesse Gurr says:

“Some of the people involved have worked at Tesla and claim to have witnessed: “Organized crime on a first hand basis.””

Are we sure they aren’t talking about the UAW coming to the Tesla factory to sign up the workers?

That wording doesn’t necessarily mean that Tesla workers were the ones involved in organized crime, just that they saw it first hand. That first hand could have been the UAW.

I guess Ken Ham is really branching out now. You know, he has this book…

  16. Get Real says:

    Actually folks,

This sounds a lot like See Through’s drivel against Tesla in some of his more bizarre comments here.

I specifically remember a particular drool-worthy comment he made about how “doctors” were “killing people” with their Teslas.

I looked again for the comment in past threads but it seems to have moderated out now.
