Tesla Model X Now Has Self-Presenting Doors (w/videos)

2 years ago by Steven Loveday 2

Like the Model S, Tesla’s Model X has flush-mounted door handles for better aerodynamics. The handles on the Model S present themselves when the driver approaches the vehicle.

The Model X takes this concept to a whole new level. When the driver approaches the vehicle, the doors automatically open.

Elon Musk revealed this feature when the Model X was first introduced, but it wasn’t initially available. Through Tesla’s over-the-air software updates, it is now functional on all Model X SUVs.

The first video “the little things” is worth viewing, good work.

Steven, you should give the first video its own post. It shows much more then the door opening itself; it’s actually a very informative video and, in the second part of the video, a side-by-side comparison of the X and the S.
