“We’ve received an anonymous tip that Fisker CEO Tony Posawatz has stepped down, as the result of a major issue over, shockingly, money. Barney Kohler is back in charge. Fisker still has a CEO? How about that.”

Tony Posawatz is rumored to have left his position as CEO of Fisker

Tony Posawatz is rumored to have left his position as CEO of Fisker

Reports Jalopnik.

We can neither confirm no deny this “rumor,” as Fisker has been unreachable for ages now.

We’ll stick this one in the rumor box, but if it turns out to be true, we wouldn’t be surprised at all.

In semi-related Fisker news, German firm Fritz AG Noi made a $25 million offer to buy out Fisker.  The offer calls for all future Fiskers to be made only in the US.  Under terms of the proposed deal, Fritz AG Noi would build 2,500 more Karmas before switching over to production of the Sunset (convertible) and Surf (shooting brake) versions.  The Fisker Atlantic would not make it to production under this deal.

Fisker owes the DoE $171 million, so it’s unlikely that this $25-million deal would be approved by the US government.

I wish GM would get the “old gang” back together for the Volt team. Tony, Frank Weber, etc. I can dream I guess.

What decade is that photo from? That guy does not look like someone who knows about electric cars.
