Renault’s Lineup Of Pure Electric Cars – Fluence Z.E., Twizy, Kangoo Z.E. and ZOE

Renault managed to sell some 23,000 all-electric cars and over 2,300 Twizy in 2015. Overall, 97% of all those vehicles were sold in Europe.

The growth of full-size BEV sales compared to 2014 stands at 49%.

Renault’s lineup consists of four models – ZOE, Kangoo Z.E., Twizy and Fluence Z.E., of which the latter was withdrawn – but still notes some marginal sales numbers from time to time.

The base model is ZOE, which is approaching 40,000 total sales – nearly half of the total of over 81,000 Renault BEVs sold since 2011.

Kangoo Z.E. crossed 21,000 and Twizy soon will hit 17,000.

How many Diesels do they need to fix, too?

I think if they just say we are sorry, like VW, GM,…(fill in legacy car company name here,) then we can just forgive them and move on.

Good that the above article shows totals without the Twizy, which isn’t really classed as an “automobile”. In European terms, it’s a quadricycle; in the USA, it would be labeled a low-speed NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle).

Low-speed EVs are often unfairly sneered at as “golf carts”, but here I think the label fits. Even the versions of the Twizy with full doors, rather than half-doors, don’t have a watertight passenger compartment.

The Renault Fluence ZE is still being produced in South Korea, where it was the electric bestseller in 2015.

Well, in 3 years from now, they will have some issues with the battery, like the israelis…

  4. Renault-Nissan just cemented their world leadership.

The car (fluence) is very nice but the batteries… Only 3 years old and got to a very bad condition ! And the service also bad, they put an old replacement battery that after one summer got to same condition as the last one, some people got to 80-90km of range ! The wrote 185km !!!

  5. The batteries of the cars are dying ! They do not give us a good service, they replace the defective battery (only 2.5-3 years old !) with another battery that in one summer comeback to the condition of the old battery, we have a page with many people placing the battery condition every day after they got a replacement, we are organizing a lawsuit against them in Israel, they wrote that the car range is 185km, if we drive on a regular legal speed, it can go up to 90 or 100 km of range !

Be aware before you buy that !
