Proterra Electric Buses To Add Mobileye Accident Avoidance Functionality – Videos Of Operation
Proterra will offer a factory option of Mobileye’s Aftermarket Collision Avoidance Solution in its 2016 all-electric Catalyst electric buses.
Mobileye system alerts a distracted driver if there is any danger of collision, so he can stop the vehicle or abandon a maneuver.
“This factory-installed option integrates the Mobileye Aftermarket system with the OEM LCD cluster in the dashboard, providing clear visibility for the driver, and maintaining the integrity of the dash. Tactile feedback will also be integrated into the OEM steering wheel.”
Mobileye Collision Avoidance Systems consists of:
- forward collision warning
- pedestrian and cyclist detection
- headway monitoring to avoid tailgating
- lane departure warning to help avoid drifting
- speed limit indication
