Peugeot notes the eF01 e-Bike needs only three easy steps to fold up, and can be accomplished in less than 10 seconds, which enables one to “effortlessly walk with the bike using the handle built into the frame.”

Although at 17 kg (37.5 lbs)“effortlessly walk” might depend on whether or not the owner is also currently competing in the “Farmer’s Walk” in the World’s Strongest Man competition.  There is definitely no footage of waify models toting this e-Bike around town.

Moreover the bike can be stored in the boot of new Peugeot 5008 SUV and charged via a 12-volt outlet. Another cool feature is a patented memory system for the saddle height.

The lithium-ion battery is good for up to 30 km (18.6 mi), while the top speed is 20 km/h (12.4 mi).

“The eF01, PEUGOETs first electrically-assisted folding bicycle. PEUGEOT, a long-standing player in the folding bicycle market, is expanding its “last kilometre” range of mobility products, launched with the e-Kick electrically-assisted scooter. Thanks to an innovative folding system designed by Peugeot Design Lab, the eF01makes multimodal travel smooth and easy.

PEUGEOT has been a leading brand of folding bikes, from the production of the first folding bicycle designed for the French army by Captain Henri GERARD in 1892, and with the iconic PEUGEOT folding bikes of the 1970s.

The eF01 offers an easy, smooth and active user experience for multimodal travel thanks to an innovative folding mechanism. Folding and unfolding the bicycle in less than ten seconds is mere child’s play: riders simply have to perform three steps in any order to alternate between riding, walking taking the train or metro. The eF01 benefits from optimised ergonomics. When folded, the bikes two wheels are perfectly aligned allowing the user to effortlessly walk with the bike using the handle built into the frame. The eF01 possesses a patented memory system for the saddle which means the perfect saddle height can be quickly achieved every time.

PEUGEOT designed the eF01 for customers looking for mobility solutions to complement their vehicle. Thanks to the Dockstation, the eF01 can be stored and recharged in the boot of the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV or any other vehicle with a 12-volt outlet. The battery recharges within approximately two hours whilst driving and can also be plugged into a regular outlet.

Compact, powerful and reliable, the eF01 weighs 17 kg, can reach a speed of 20 km/h and has a lithium-ion battery for a range of up to 30 kilometres. Disc brakes on the 16-inch front and rear wheels ensure optimum performance. Connected, the eF01 uses the Bluetooth© Low Energy protocol to communicate with a smartphone. Mypeugeot APP can be used to view the current range and battery level.”

Under $2,500. ? Probably not in the US.

At this point, a large warehouse could hold all the e-mobility devices made by all the major automakers over the years; from electrified ‘last mile’ bikes, scooters and skateboards, to a GM prototype that held two collapsible Segways stored in a sliding rear bumper tray.

And like most of these high priced design exercises, nothing much comes of it.

You will need it for the Model 3 😉

  4. Is a nice little bike, how much?

  5. Warren says:

I much prefer my electric skateboard. Benchwheel Dual motor and belt drive. Faster than this bike. Bluetooth contol, regenerative braking, less than half the weight, and stores in back of my i3 in 2 seconds.

I love my electric cargo bike. I can do almost all of my errands with it! What brand skateboard do you own. I love watching Casey cruise around on his Boasted Board but they are a little pricey. Do you ever travel with yours?

google 40c3 40 lb ebike does 40 mph and has 40 mi range

Every time a car company wants to appear “green” they show their cars with a bike. The problem is that people who love bikes are already riding them, and those who don’t are driving. Those on the fence are afraid to try, because of all the damned cars. It is a Catch 22.

Warren, Easy do away with the cars! In FACT a few cities already have.
