Radio Flyer Tesla Model S

Just like when Tesla reveals an actual car, reservations holders for the Radio Flyer Model S got to take test drives of their tiny electric cars with media present prior to taking delivery.

Video description:

“Tesla partners up with Radio Flyer to offer a Tesla Model S test drive on a mini track for kid reservation holders.”

Radio Flyer adds:

“Tesla Model S for Kids by Radio Flyer boasts the exhilarating performance of a Tesla and features the longest run time and fastest recharge time thanks to the use of FlightSpeed™ Lithium Ion battery technology. The most innovative battery powered ride-on for children was created by Radio Flyer in collaboration with Tesla to ensure the highest levels of fun and performance.”

Back in February, Radio Flyer announced that it was accepting pre-order for its kiddie version of the Tesla Model S. First deliveries are to occur this month.

Here are some “specs” on the Radio Flyer S:

  • This true-to-life Radio Flyer Model S features a frunk, a spacious interior and a swappable battery pack, just like the real-life Model S.
  • Weight capacity is 81 pounds and it’s listed as being for children ages 3 to 8 years old.
  • Top speed is 6 MPH

Unlike the real Model S, the Radio Flyer version tops out at only $804 dollars. A base model costs $499.

I was considering one for my daughters 2nd birthday, but I am really bummed they didn’t refresh the nose.

Maybe wait until 3rd birthday. I don’t even think she could drive that yet.

      1. Anon says:

Finishing the injection molds and such were probably done 6 months ago, then shipped to the US as a finished product. Too early to take the update into account.

Maybe next year they will offer a refresh, if the sales of this are good? *shrugs*

A Model III version would be popular… Just say’in. 😉

  5. Rudy Clarke says:

Damn! Those things have no lock whatsoever??? Surely for a kiddie toy it must be able to be used in tight spaces, so how’s that toy supposed to be turned around? Go figure!

  6. Foo says:

It’s all fun and games until one catches on fire.

    1. Anon says:

Put your matches and lighter fluid away…

  7. Pushmi-Pullyu says:

So when will we see the first video of a Radio Flyer Model S drag racing a Radio Flyer Hellcat?

  8. mhpr262 says:

That kid at 0:48 doesn’t even go to school yet and already drives like a true Asian.
