Dubai Police: Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador … And A 50 mph Renault Twizy

The Dubai police department has long been know for having some pretty eccentric cars in their police force.

Not happy with run of the mill fleet of BMWs and Camaros…or a Ferrari FF…or a Bentley Continental GT…or a Aston Martin One…or a Mercedes SLS, the Dubai police added a Lamborghini Aventador to the fleet this spring.

Because nothing says law enforcement more than a $500,000+ supercar with a top speed in excess of 215 mph.

Actually, something did say law enforcement more than the Lambo, as the force then added a $1.4 million dollar Bugatti Veyron a short time later, a car that features the world’s best top speed for a production vehicle – 267 mph.

However, WorldCarFans has discovered (via DubaiPolicHQ) that the supercar fleet also feature another pretty rare police car – the 50 mph Renault Twizy.

In other news, if you want to find out who has the least seniority on the Dubai Police force – check out WHO IS DRIVING THE RENAULT TWIZY!

I snapped these pics of the police at the Vatican a couple months ago.
If you can outrun the cops for 60 miles your home free!

Er, I don’t think that’s going to be much of a problem: the whole state is only half a square km (less than 0.2 sq mile). 🙂

Plus, the Swiss guards got something better anyway: http://insideevs.com/nissan-leaf-adopted-by-law-enforcement-in-switzerland/
(Just kidding, this one is actually near Geneva. Police in several European countries use EVs.)
