Don’t Like Your New Chevrolet Volt? Just Return it. Chevrolet Offers 60 Day Returns
Unlike a previous opportunity last December for Chevrolet Volt owners to return their cars under the cloud of the “Volt fire” incident (which ended up being an unwarranted black eye for the car), GM has announced a new marketing initiative that allows all new Chevrolet buyers the unique opportunity to return their cars if they are not completely satisfied with their purchase.
The program is eligible for all those who buy their Chevys between today and September the 4th. The only stipulations on the program is that you have to live with your Chevrolet between 30 and 60 days, and you return it to GM in fair condition with less than 4,000 miles driven. At which point, the full purchase price of the car (+taxes) will be return to the buyer. The program applies to not only 2012 model year inventory, but 2013 as well.
In addition, GM has taken a page out of Walmart’s playbook by introducing “Total Confidence Pricing”, which according to GM means:
“…all 2012 model year Chevrolets will be offered at special preferred prices in addition to all current vehicle-specific incentives. No mystery about it – the price you see is the price you pay.”

As it pertains to the Volt, potential customers should also be aware that there is a special “high volume” credit program in place for participating dealers, meaning that if a dealership triples GM’s own internal Volt sales forecasts for them over the summer, that dealer will then receive a $2,500 credit against future orders, making Volts at several of these high volume dealerships currently as much as $5,000 under MSRP.
Personally, I’m feeling like I could be really ‘confident’ with a $111,600 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 for about, ah….59 days.
