The plug-in hybrid Volvo S90 T8 Twin Engine was presented at the Geneva Motor Show and precisely reviewed by the Autogef├╝hl.

Sadly, the Volvo V90 debut was only in the conventional drivetrain version, so we need to wait for the T8 a little longer.

Both versions gathered a lot of attention, so perhaps we’ll see strong sales in the future.

The capability of the battery and motor are not exceptional, but on short distances and at lower speeds in the city, the Volvo PHEVs could work well in Europe.

Quick specs:

  • 9.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with just 6.7 kWh usable capacity
  • expected 15 to 20 miles of all-electric range
  • AWD with 2.0-liter gasoline engine coupled with a crank-integrated starter generator and 8-speed automatic transmission for the front plus a 65 kW electric motor for the rear

Wagon version is interesting and very useful

But the 15-20ish miles EV range is just another European compliance car.

What’s the estimate on when these might show up in the US? A year from now? More?

Another half ass offering. I cringe every time I see those cmax and pip in the car pool lane. Thank God we don’t offer green stickers anymore.

I think is awesome. Beats these SUV – aka Trump mobile.. huge ass lumbering trucks.
