An official brochure sent to U.S. dealerships gives an overview of the upcoming BMW i8, its ordering process and competitive landscape. In this marketing material, BMW states that the i8 is the leader in order simplicity with most of the equipment being standard and no packages.

The brochure also mentions the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 4S as competitors at a higher price point.

  1. Expect BMW’s entire product line to streamline options like this. They are moving towards have if a couple packages per car and that’s it. Inside of five years I doubt you’ll be able to order options ala carte anymore.

    231hp/236ft.lbs from a 3-cylinder twin turbo engine! It must scream, literally!

    Just wish the electric portion of the drivetrain was a bit more serious, quite a bit.
