Sales of the BMW i3 commenced last November in Germany.  In its debut month, over 400 units were sold.

First BMW i3 sales in the US occurred in May 2014.  After 3 sluggish months of sales in the U.S., the i3 took off by logging more than 1,000 units sold in both August and September.

We can now report that worldwide sales of the BMW i3 have shot to over 10,000 units, including more than 3,100 in the U.S.

BMW claims that it’s currently selling 100-ish i3s per day globally, or ~ 3,000 per month.  That’s approximately on target with BMW’s initial sales projections for the i3.

As for the BMW i8, its sales total are now above 300 units worldwide.

I think Photon would be a better plate, one is also the electronaut edition, which is one of the better things BMW came up with.

    Wow. That’s a lot of pent-up demand.

Great start, BMW! We eagerly look forward to more plug-in cars from you. Give us something sporty with a real electric range, please. And make a convertible version too.

I am one of them and very happy to be – even if I owned a Porsche and 5 other bimmers before, I would never go back even if some people think I am a psychiatric citizen

My i3 is fast, comfortable leather seats, great visibility and great range thanks to the range extender. If I’m nuts, I’m proud of it!
